Sewer Repairs to Take Place Outside Cherry Creek Building

From approximately Tuesday, September 3 to Thursday, September 12, the City of Denver will be doing some necessary repairs to the sewer line that runs outside the Cherry Creek building. The city must get this work done before the RTD line reopens at the end of September.

The impacts of this on the Auraria Campus will be:

  • The pedestrian walkways along the south and southeast side of the Cherry Creek building will be closed to pedestrians. Pedestrians who access campus from that southeast corner will be routed to the north and the west. (see below pedestrian closure graphic - the red areas are road/walkway closures by the City and County of Denver and the Blue areas are AHEC precautionary measures)

  • There will be some drilling associated with the project that may be heard in Cherry Creek Classrooms

  • There will likely be sewage and epoxy smells from the project that may impact Cherry Creek and other areas close to the work
