The Auraria Campus will be hosting TNT American Express Road Show’s NBA tip off in its 40th consecutive year of NBA coverage with a free, all ages, family friendly, day-long fan experience on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
What does this mean?
There will be preparations and moving of equipment around the Tivoli Quad beginning Friday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 26. The event perimeter will remain clear and accessible during load-in and load-out.
On the day of the event, Tuesday, Oct. 24, the surrounding walkways will be closed from approximately 2:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., as the event perimeter will be secured. The walkways will be reopened by Wednesday morning, Oct. 25.
We ask that you remain conscious of your surroundings during this time and practice situational awareness.
How does this impact commuting to campus?
This event will affect parking on campus and traffic commuting to the Auraria Campus. It is advised to leave yourself an extra 30 minutes if you are commuting by car or public transit. There will be several metered parking spots surrounding the Tivoli Quad will not accessible during this period.
The evening/event parking rate of $15 ($20 for the Tivoli Garage) will be in effect for all non-registered users starting at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 24. However, if you register your vehicle with AHEC here, the daily rate will remain the same as usual.
The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is not sponsoring this event. The Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD) and a private security firm will be present on the day of the event. In case of an emergency, contact ACPD at (303) 556-5000.
