The engineering department is trying to attract other STEM and non-STEM majors to try an engineering projects class (EGT 1110), and it can count as an elective.
Students don't need any prior engineering knowledge or experience, and they will spend the semester doing a deep dive in the design process where they will focus on a problem, research it, brainstorm several solutions, choose a final solution, and create a working model of that solution.
Students will also learn how to use an industry-standard computer-aided design program and learn how to effectively communicate their ideas with direct instruction on technical writing.
